i dont beleive youve smoked a turbo lude let alone ludes it is so rare that a lude is turboed that is is near impossible to have race 2 it takes so much to turbo a lude it aint funny even if you did race a turbo lude was it a vtec i highly doubt it when my vtec kicked in my wheels spun

I cant beleive how many people in here like hondas, yes they are reliable and cheap and fast but not refined!! hondas are recycled pepsi cans with wheels i would rather drive a 318is then a honda

I can't believe how ignorant you are. Honda builds the best engines in the world. Can't exactly make an engine out of recycled pepsi cans in a figurative sense, and get more hp/liter than the E46 M3, and make it 10x more reliable. That's not exactly shitty. I'd say japanese cars are VERY refined - a not-refined car is something like a ford escort. Plus if you want to compare BMW's to Honda's.... better do it with acura, which again is arguably a better DEAL than a BMW...but yes, japanese cars do typically feel like tin cans...but E46's don't feel nearly as solid as bmw's earlier models (no nice "thud" when you shut the doors like the older bmw's).

I like honda/acura. I'd buy one as a daily driver [thumb]

BTW Honda is in formula 1, and also builds some pretty powerful and capable motors. I wouldn't underestimate them. Ricers are a different story all together [bmwkick]

[poke] well obviously you need to come to pittsburgh.. in particular bethal park/ upper st clair area. there more than two turbo'd ludes, turbo civics and many other turbo imports.. bunch of spoiled rich kids... i have a friend in washington pa with a tuner shop that i know for a fact built 3 of them for customers.. come to pittsburgh park raceway on import night and i know for a fact there are three that race there.. they usualy go home early because i've sent em home....(unless i broke something) there is a DSM eclipse running low 10s high 9's that sends them and me home every time.

I sold my volvo last spring to some guy in vegas.. here is a link to a video of him racing it and hitting the wall..it told him not to shift it manually but he didn't listen.. keep in mind this run is with out nitrous.. (i took it off when i sold it) even after hitting the wall he ran a 13.6 which is about what a turbo lude runs.. maybe a little slower.

hahahahahaha wit my extras and not turbod i was doing better than 13.6 haha i had msd ignition skunk 2 cams and timing advance aem adjustable cam gears dc 421 headers hi flow cat dc evo2 exhaust and my vtec controller kicked in my vtec at 2000rpm and my interior was gutted of the leater for one light weight seat and steeringwheel. i newver put nos in my car thats for *****s that cant build a real car like i did i do all my own work. and i do it right! and if i would turn my psi up to 20 that volvo wouldnt even be a contender with your nos... and if i would add nos i would be blowing that eclipse away with mid 9's and ive been down there my lude is bright red it had 8000 power light rims on it you could all four at once and would be less weight then most single rims are speacial from japan...

Yeah your wheels spin so easily because its a front wheel drive car. Don't get my wrong here your turbo lude is fast in a straight line. Even a 318 would run circles around it a track.

my crappy volvo..

i only had about 2000$ invested in my volvo including the cost of the car..how much you have into yours... i have never seen a 9 second prelude actually i have never seen a 10 second prelude.. actually now that i think about it.. i have never seen an 11 second prelude saw a couple of 12 second ones.. and they had similar mods that you listed with nitrous. maybe on tv they run 9's..some of the pro teams are running that fast.. but not a street car.. not enough traction. the trans would explode if you did get traction...plus if you run 20lbs of boost you'd have to get bigger injectors.. maybe even an an alcohol injector.. race gas, a fuel management system and a whole lot of tuning.. maybe even a low compression rebuild.. not sure never really looked into it.... i am not digging at you.. i like honda's they have serious potential... but front wheel drive limits performance and that is a fact.. in my volvo there has never been a honda that i raced that i haven't beat unless i broke something (which happend more than once).. come to pittsburgh some time... check out import night... i should have my 240z done by then.. it should be a low 11- high 10 second car.. there are a couple of dodge omni's running 9's, a awd mitsu gallant running low 10's that one awd dsm running 9's a sick supra running 9's and really everone else is running 12's or less.. 12 seconds is FAST!! for a street car..

i meant the run you saw in the video was still a 13.6 second run even though he hit the wall. that car ran low 12's without nitrous.. low 11's with.. all that for a little over 2000.00

def not my lude was awsome in cornering most cars wheels would squeel a pish and spin out around hard turns but mine was like duct tape dude it handles just as good as my 323is if not better i ain kidding either

beleive me i would have run mid 9 sec if i had my psi maxed but never would cuz i was scarded on 143000 engine... i also had an after market ecu more feul flow better mixture no fuel limiter no rev limiter but the highest i took my rpms up to was lik 8700 like i said i was a ***** bout killing my engine i had bout 7200 in it including the car and it was way lighter that without slicks on and warm i had to take off in second or the wheels would just spin

Vtec wouldnt do that, all it does is change the cam profiles for upper rpm's so you get a more-optimum air/fuel ratio at both lower and higher rpm's. It doesnt give it this huge boost of power, in fact you typically cant even feel it.

I really don't think you lude would handle better than your 323. I have driven a civic hb with a b16a motor, with knoi adjustable suspension. Yeah the car handled good but not great. Did you lude have any suspension mods? I talking about stock suspension here. I really think your 323 would handle better than a prelude.

A 13.6 ET translates to about 210 hp for your car. There is simply no way you could develop enough extra horsepower surge when the VTEC "kicked in" to spin the wheels, even if you had 250 hp. Variable valve timing doesn't just "kick in", it transitions in - that's why its called VARIABLE valve timing. An immediate timing change, necessary to cause enough horsepower surge to spin the wheels, would cause the engine to "hiccup", and maybe even break something.

it wasnt every gear just first but still i a m serious when my vtec kicked in my wheels spun my japan ecu had something that did it i cant remember but ill try to find my ecu online and figure it out and ill let ytou know you have to also remeber my vtec controller had my vtec kickin in at 2000 and who ever says you cant feel the vtec you cant when your in the passenger seat generally only the driver can but my passengers can feel mine well could
