i was jus goin to the mall to go shopping....we were in the parking garage waitin on the traffic to get moving again, we were on an uphill slope to get to the next floor, when the guy in front of me all sudden puts his Mountaineer in reverse and smacks the shit outta my 95 325i....i guess he got tired of holdin the break so he put it in park, and when he tried to get back into gear, he accidentally put it in reverse and slammed the gas....he had absolutely no damage to his car......my car had 2 be towed off, the radiator is pushed back into the engine which pushed the engine upwards a little bit....i have to wait til monday for the insurance, and see whats gonna happen....he admitted fault so i think its gonna be alright, i jus dont know whether they'll total the car, or repair it.....its kinda scary [:(] ...oh well thought i'd let someone know what happened haha....atleast everyone wuz alright? yeah...

does anybody know who does body and engine work on bmw's in columbus, ohio? our local bmw dealer told me they dont do body work...so any input would be greatly appreciated

Look at the bright side, if they total the car you can probably get a newer 328 for the money they give you. Sorry can't help you with the body shop but I heard that for a few bucks some body shops can do a few things to the car so that it will be totalled. Never tried it and I think it is illegal, just sharing my knowledge.

That's what we call "Insurance Fraud."

I agree with you epj3 and would never do it myself, just that some people think insurance companies get too much money and believe they have the right to get some money back and then we are the ones who have to pay higher premeums.

definitely get the rims off it. They call them "options" or "additions" and wont cover them. They tried to do that to an old chevy I had. When I got hit, the tires peeled off and I had flat spots on the rims. The insurance company wouldnt cover them, so I dorve back to Mass. where the car was and took the wheels right off it. I eventually turned them into a salvage yard and got $50 a piece for them as scrap metal, but at least my damned Nazi insurance comany didn't get them. I also STRIPPED the car of everything I put in or changed wich was virtually everything, so The insurnace comany got virtually NOTHING save for the shell. Seats, guage cluster, custom fiberglass dash, stereo, speakers, steering wheel, and even the shift knob came with me. I even smashed out the window that I paid to have replaced (rear quarter window that got spider-webbed in a parking lot and the insurnace wouldn't cover). So suck on that.

Yeah, my point, take all of your stuff out of there. If you touched it, or altered it, it was an "option" and is therefore not covered.
