Springs / Shocks

I have a 95 325i convertable, the car needs the shocks and springs replaced. Girlfriend just lost her job and we are looking to do this as cheap as possible. Any suggestions? Would used M3 springs fit? What are your suggestions for me?

I'm looking to buy springs/shocks and let me friend/automechanic do the install.

The most cost effective solution for you would probably be to order the stock units from the major BMW parts dealers, such as Pacific BMW, or Circle BMW. They have the best prices on original BMW parts, MUCH better then your local dealer in most cases, although you should check.
