squeaking

I have this squeaking in my car, sounds like it is coming from the dash and only when I go over bumps, what possibly could it be. I just got my suspension looked at and everything, sounds like like something in the venting system I guess because it comes right from the dash.

the dash/glove compartment/door cards squeak on e36s its one of their few flaws it a fcukin pain in the ass but somethin thats hard to pin down to where its commin from and hard to fix. my passenger door is squeakin and it drives me nuts

lol it's not my suspension, but it's only when I go over bumps, like a unoiled spring somewhere but I can't find it and it's driving me CRAZY! It makes me feel like I'm driving a khia BTW nice car ^^^^ the paint looks like it's a mirrior, It's perfect

Actually, come to think of it the dealer did correct something like this for me, I had a noise from the back of my car & they put a new part on the mcph/shock mounts to eliminate vibration...there was a dealer memo about it. Here is the dealer info that will help you.

Cause: Rattle from upper shock mount.

This is the note on the service receipt, and it did solve a noise I had, the dealer was wonderful in helping me out, I would take your car in, they can at times narrow a problem down far quicker.

I had that same thumping in the back and he did the shocks too. this is more of a squeak like an unoiled gate. you know that sound. It sounds like around the door, passenger seat, or glovebox area and I can't zone in on it and it' sdriving me crazy.

Sounds like a tough one - I have had good luck with the dealer finding these things, have they researched this squeak yet ? I know how you feel, I had an Acura TL, loved everything about it except...a sunroof rattle, they never could solve it...and in such a quiet car ANY rattle or noise was a pest...I pawned it off after getting mad...lol. I still miss that car, but happy with my Bimmer.

Try tightening up any screws you can find and then turning up volume om stereo. It worked for me!

haha yeah my stereo is always loud now but I don't know where the screws would be. And do you know those plastic square mesh body kit pieces on the front of the car? The nuts broke off and I odn' tknow how to put it back on

ok I found the squeak, it's above my glovebox, when I punch the dash it squeaks. now HOW DO I GET IN THERE AND OIIL IT UP! there must be a way because i've seen gloveboxes taken apart and it doesn't look hard at all and just load some wd-40 up in there.

I had a squeek from my passenger sun visor as its in the up position. I just stuck a napkin from a fast food drive through up between the visor and ceiling. had it there for a couple years, and has since fallen out.
doesnt squeek anymore.
