stereo removal ARHHHH

was going to put this in audio but since its for my e36 i guess i'll slap it in here. i've gotten the dealership to undo the screws that hold in the stock radio in my 98 318i. but theres a black box thats covering the wires and i can't seem to pull it out, what steps do i need to take to get this shit out?? its bugging me..i saw the little picture and popped the black thing up..but its still not coming out or anything. thanks!

from what it says in my manual just try jiggling it there is proberbly a locking tab which needs pushing to one side, mine had been cut off before i got it but i dont think they are normally grief

Oh man, those things are such a pain in the ass. I used a huge flat screwdriver to raise the little black box even more and then it came off, I think it took me a good half an hour to remove it for the second time, so just try to stay calm and take it slow. Good luck, have fun.

^^i did the same, but i was trying to just cut a wire on mine, the PHONE kept displaying so i cut the wire for it lol works perfect

i got my in dash DVD player in now FINALLY. my biggest problem was taking off the damn glovebox..i had no idea there was a bolt behind the light for the glovebox lol
