Strange tactile feedback on iDrive with Sirius

Just picked up my '05 545i. I have Nav, Sirius, Logic7 among other options. Aside from RDS not working (apparently a known issue), everything seems fine. The only slight issue I am having, which I assume is a software issue, is when I display the master list of channels in Sirius, if I scroll beyond the bottom of the visible portion of the channel list to get to the next channels, the iDrive knob vibrates oddly as it pulls up the next several channels. It's almost as though it is giving me a hard stop but then eases up, then stops and eases up again, rapidly. It winds up feeling like it is vibrating. It is annoying and I am wondering if anbody else has noticed this.

Thanks.

Get it checked out immediately....you have to many components tied into iDrive to let it sit. I did the same thing and sat on mine and the entire iDrive had to be replaced.....twice.

Is it just with Sirius or does it happen whenever you reach the end of any menu? I thought I read somewhere about the iDrive knob coming w/ force feedback at some point. I know my 2004 doesn't have it.

Update: In reading old posts on another board, E60s w/ navigation get the force feedback iDrive knobs. Try it on some of your other menu options. As you scroll to the end, you should get the same vibrating feedback.

Only seems to be on that one menu. Other menus - even within sirius - scroll smoothly until you get a true 'hard stop' at the very end of the list. That's why I think it is a software issue, since it is unique to that one screen. I told dealer next time I come by he should check it out. Not a big deal and I don't think the iDrive is broken. But might as well let him check it.

Any further thoughts?

Thanks.

Yes, does sound like something for the dealer to look at. I don't have navigation so I have never felt the force feed back in the iDrive knob, but the "feel" should be consistent for all menus. Good luck and enjoy your new ride!
