Sunroof noise

2000 740i - I notice that if you have the sunroof closed and the shade open, there seems to be a slight rattle. Not present with shade closed. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

I remember seeing lots of post on this before. If your car is still under warranty, have them fix the rubber gasket that sits on top of the shade. The gasket is designed to push down on the shade to prevent rattles, Part#54-12-8-169-710.

Replacing the gasket is a good idea. I replaced mine last Spring and it eliminated the rattle, but I've never been happy with the wind noise from my sunroof. It's never been quiet without closing the shade. I have a 97 740il that is the best car I have ever owned and the only complaint is the sunroof. Small price to pay.
