Swapping Instrument Cluster

g'day all,

im new to the world of BMW's with a 318i and to this forum.

at the moment she reads 98,000km which is pretty good for a 1993 in Australia but the tacho doesnt work. my question is if i change the cluster do i loose my low km reading on the dash?

i believe you get the mileage of the new gauge cluster.

I have heard or read somewhere that the milage reads whichever is higher, the speedo or the CPU
