For all the california drivers, I was wondering what the window tint legal limits were for califrnia. I think the back has no limit, I've seen many with limo tint, like 4%, on the back but what abou tthe front side windows and the back side windows? Any help? Thanks in advance...peace[confused]

pydo82,

The wonderful State of California does not allow you to tint any window starting from the driver, forward. i.e. the front driver's/passenger windows may not be tinted in any way unless it was offered originally from the factory. The front window may have the UV sun strip across the top of the window. I'm not exactly sure abou the maximum height for this strip...however we all know that a darkly tinted strip across the top really looks gay [rofl]

As for the remaining windows, you are allow to tint up to 35% light transfer (meaning 35% of the light gets through). Anything 35%+ is okay...less than 35% is a big no-no to the CHP. And yes...I have friends who have been pulled over for exactly that. Most city cops don't really care that much, but the CHP really has nothing better to do than fund the state by being pricks [hihi]
