1. My tires are down to about 1/16th of an inch of tred. I should be experiencing better grip on smooth clean pavement right? And horrible wet traction. Because (which leads me to my next point) i dropped my clutch at about 3500, and it was the clutch that slipped, not my low-tread tires. like i said, number 2.

2. 94k on my clutch now. and ever since yesterday i've been driving the living piss out of my car. so now i can't chirp into second, because of clutch slip. but it still rips real hard right to the top of the rev range.

new clutch? even though it pulls?

Do you feel the engine revving higher in between shifts? When the clutch when out on my old car, the engine would rev higher in between shifts.

Best thing to do is take it to a professional Dan. Its much cheaper to replace the clutch than the tranny.

well i dropped the clutch at about 3500 and just poored it on, but didn't get any wheel spin to my surprise, just a rev up, as the car pulled on. then after about 5 minutes the most potent clutch smell ever.

Well if it starts slipping at high rev, you might want to think about getting a new one soon. I'm about due (as i've been teaching my friends how to drive a straight on mine, might teach my mom next [ohcrap]) for a new clutch. Mine is still liveable though, as i pulled off the best one-two shift ever just this morning. I didn't think that my rear tires could chirp in a 318.... at least not without a huge friggin clutch drop. [driving]

test....going relatively slow, like around 15 mph, shift into 4 or 5th...gas...is it slipping now? if so, its time for a new clutch...

i did that right away, and even with the clutch still stinking up the air it would not slip. it could be that my tires are so worn, that they are turning into race/slicks.

i hope it doesn't rain *sigh*
