Urgent ? on wheel size?

Does anyone know if e46 wheels will fit an e36 or is the offest for the bolts different? I am contempleting buying a used set of steel wheels with snows. Thanks.

Yes, I have e46 wheels on my e36 and no problems. My next set will be e46 M3 wheels also.
