Looks pretty decent. Not perfect, but only cost me like 7 bucks. Was kinda an impulse buy. Will post pics when I can.[;)] Was from a E34 I think, not sure. Little bit of clear RTV silicone to get it attached. Hey, I am ghetto.[;)]

Well, here is a pic of my ghetto fix....again, I like it. No poking fun of the steering wheel cover. My stock wheel is worn. Someone was going to attempt to do this mod. I just wanted to show the end results....again, not perfect, but for some reason, the 97 had just the black emblem imbedded in the wheel.

This post is mainly for the 97 owners in the same position I was in.[;)]

Just sharing the end results, again, not perfect....but better than before and easily removable.

Damn....my interior needs a cleaning.....never thought about it until now. Forgive the cheap air freshner as well....hey, they do smell good though.[thumb] Now, if I could get some real floor mats, and clean my white leather seats....I hate white leather.[:(!]

I like it a lot, from the pics it looks very professionally done.
Thanks Tom....actually it is not that perfect, looks OK but I am happy with it. This is one of those things us 97 owners have to deal with. Hey, got the emblem for 6.50 and 60 cents shipping. Someone wanted pics before of anyone who had put an emblem on a 97.....guess it kinda stuck in my memory and said....hey, for a few bucks...no loss....I can do that and post a pic. Kinda sticks out on the side view a bit. Again, not perfect...but for a few bucks. The silicone made it stick pretty well and can be removed easily. Hope this gives some people a few cheap ideas. Sometimes.....small ghetto mods turn out well. Now.....next project....I want to remove all the wood and replace with real carbon fiber or aluminum. And get some decent pedal covers....some nice ACS ones.[thumb]

Hey, I have a dremmel, some duct tape, and some vice grips....I can do anything....LOL.[;)]

I thought they quit putting them on cars with airbags, but I could be wrong. Both my 91 318is and the 750iL do not have emblems, I am not sure about the roadster, now I am going to have to go look. Either way I like the look of your emblem.

I figured why I never noticed on my roadster, I have a Momo steering wheel, Duh!
LOL Big Daddy. I actually need a wheelskins wheel cover to replace my worn steering wheel. The cheap wheel cover works well for now, actually matches the interior wood so far. Just would like to recover the steering wheel. Thanks for the complements on the ghetto steering wheel emblem. It is by no means again perfect....but for the price. Hey, I am really looking forward to taking off the wheel cover....serves a purpose for now...and looking into a new wheel cover.[;)]

A nice black and blue cover would look good.

I really like the way that looks. I've got the ugly black embossed emblem on mine. Anyone have any idea why they wouldn't just put a color one on?? Either way I've been afriad to just glue things on... I always end up feeling guilty about it. Maybe now I'll give it a try though :)

be very VERY careful when doing these kinds of things. Should you get into an accident, the force of the airbag exploding could potentially blow that emblem off INTO YOU. It could be the projectile that kills you before you are saved by the airbag. Possible??

I think it is REMOTELY POSSIBLE the emblem could cut you, but nothing more than that...

Thinking about this though I always wondered what would happen if you were bending down to pick something up and the airbag went off right on your head or if you were drinking out of a glass bottle and it smashed it into your face!

also never drive with your hands on the botton of the wheel or hanging from the top (where your palms are facing you and grabbing the steering wheel -- not many people do it but I know some do) becuase when that airbag goes off the 2 places you DONT want your arms flying is down into your legs or up into your face.
