I have a 1993 325...which was very good to me (original owner). It now has about 200k
Now I've been told that the following things need immediate attention:
Lower Ball joints, Lower control arm bushings, rear shock mounts, front and rear pads, front and rear rotors, brake sensor, wiper transmission and tyres.
My options are to suck it up and get all these fixed, or call it a day. (I have a good friend that can run it through an auction)
My fears are: what else could happen down the road.....maybe I should look at another BM
WHAT SHOULD I DO??

Thanx

Do you have an estimate on the repairs? Are you able to do them yourself? According to NADA the car is valued between $5500.00 and $8300.00. If the car is in good shape, I would make the repairs myself and keep it or sell it myself. At an auction your going to get about half it's value at best.

My car has 180,000 on it now. i was told to change the Lower ball joints which price on them was about $25 each. However, they told me that putting it is where the problem is. Anyways, they told me to put both will be $400. I know that that's bullshit. I can probably find a cheaper place. Also, the Pads are nothing. I've done that my self. Strut mount i still need. Price for it is about $30 on ebay. I still have to do it. Brake sensor is $15 and you can even go without it. What i did was just took the bulb outa my dash. My buddy bought a wiper Transmission for $70. You can probably find used at a junk yard. Rotors are about $200 all four.
Men, I'll advice you to keep your car. Especially if your the original owner. If i was the orginal owner of mine, believe me; i'll never let it go. I'll keep it for 50years. Besides, what else are you going to get? Another car that YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEMS ON IT ARE? Just my 5 cents thoughts.
Good Luck.

i agree pretty much with the afore said. i would stay with the car especially as it seems good an reliable through all the time now. get the parts together and try to do asmuch as you can yourself. or at least with a buddy who might be able to help you out. then the repairs will not kill your valet and the car will be fine again. for the next upcoming problem, hey you never know, especially not with a new one. with this one, you at least know everything.
