when i break i can smell the pads burning

Hey,
I have a weird problem, when i break ( harder then usual ) i can smell my pads burning, at least outside the car i can smell it sometimes inside, the rims get warm. Thats mostly for the front wheels.Also im wondering if that would have to do with my bad abs sensor that i have, altho only one sensor is wrong and both of the wheels get hot.

Thats just what breaking hard does. your pads could be catching slightly also.

Check if you have OEM pads or aftermarket. Your pads are not probably designed for hard performance driving. Dou you feel loss of braking?

ABS

ABS sensor is not related with braking in any way. Your car breaks the same even without the ABS just dont have that control in dangerous situations. And you may not have bad ABS sensor but it can be the main brain of the ABS system and it can also be a pressu valve. You have to take the car to the dealer for ABS because they can determine whats wrong on the computer. so you know exactly what do you have to replace.

The test is around $100.

Because you may replace the sensors on both wheels and thats $200 and your light would still be on.

Bad quality pads will heat up your rotors more and than the heat is transfered to your rims.

Yes

Get PAGID Brake pads. they supply OEM and you can get them from Bavarian Autosport for $54.95 set. they are perfect for everyday driving and a light performance driving. You can also get High Perfomance Pagid for about $150 a set, BUT in normal driving the pads do not warm up properly to break good. Those pads are only for racing purposes. The best is to get the Pagid for 54.95 with cross drilled rotors they work perfect!

Rotors and Pads

Those pads are 54 set which is for 2 wheels. thats only $100 and something for all four wheels. I would go with Stock rotors but the BMP cross drilled are very good if you want drilled. they cost around $250 a set. But they wear pads faster. And there is not much difference beetwen.

Brakes

If you change pads on old rotors and than you gonna put new rotors its double the work and you gonna damage the new rotors by warping them because the pads will get use to those old rotors.

damn it ;> I think ill just wait, it breaks good, just the smell annoys me. winter is comming, time to drive a little slowwwweeerrrrr... and they brake ok.
