When to Service Confusion

Hi everyone,
I own a 06 325i and it is almost 2000 miles on it. I called the service department and they said the car won't need any service until 12000 miles.
I was kind of surprised, because 12000 sounds too far. I looked through the manual but I could not find any service maintenance schedule that says at 3000 miles do this at 5000 miles do that.

The guy said in the phone that these cars use a special oil that does not need changing every 5000 miles. Ok, I understand the oil part, but how about checking the brakes, other fluids at certain intervals.

I just wanted to know what is your take on this guys.

It's either every year or 15,000 miles (when the indicator runs down probably 12,000 in your case). Your car should be fine, it's brand new, relax and try not opening the hood for a while.
