BMW fanatics have always flashed their lights at other BMWs when passing, We flash at all bimmers and even though some do not return the greeting we will continue to do it.

i do sometimes, i know i shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but most kids i see driving around in e36's all think they are driving around in Euro M3's or Z8's or E30 M cars, and they drive around like their 318i with limo tint is the best car in the universe. i'm all for people enjoying what they have, but most kids like that come off as dicks to me

I've seen a couple of other 96 328i's on the road comming home from the golf course these past 3 weeks. They don't acknowledge me either. Not concerned, want to have their butts next to me at one of the stop lights on the way home. Would like to blow them away from the lights just for fun.

I'd flash my lights to another E36 BMW as long as I know that it has manual transmission I'd flash my lights to frolf's car for sure since he's got the same setup as myself: black coupe with manual and I6 under the hood - true BMW setup, it doesn't get any more BMWish than that, yeah!

I think that should be our new nation-wide E36 acknowledgement - just hold up the shocker as your pass. People would be confused at the beginning but after a month of my commute I'd start passing the same people again and they'd catch on
