Hey guys, In the next month, i plan to buy an exhaust, power programmer, and cold air intake. I own a 96 bmw 328is. PLease let me know which exhaust would be the best for my car, and gain the most hp, while having a deep sound. I have been looking at the bavarian autosports power programmers but im not sure about them. Can you tell me anything? Thanks

i beleive you must send bavauto your ECU for them to program it. there shark injector lets you "inject" the software yourself...for exhausts, i think it will all vary due to opinions. the best thing for you to do, is try to find sound clips, stats of the exhausts youd want to get and go from there.

Hello StuartJoyce I have a 1997 328is and I was in your same situation a few months ago. I have not done a software upgrade yet, but I have installed a Jim Conforti Cold Air Intake and an Active Autowerke Stage III Exhaust and so far I am very pleased with both of them. I did a lot of research for the exhaust by looking at exhaust tests. Here are some you can check out... http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/0301ec_techbmw/index.html and here is another... http://www.eurospeedperformance.com/Articles/exhaustdynox.htm . For the intake I would go with an Active Autowerke or Jim Conforti. I do not think the performance difference from them will be much different, it is just personal preference. As for software, there is not much you can do with the OBD II computer to upgrade power. I have heard good and bad about the Jim Conforti Shark Injector, but that is probably what I will end up doing because there are not that many options. Another option is the Active Autowerke Software/ Eurospeed M50 Intake Manifold Kit from eurospeedperformance.com , but that is kind of expensive. If I were you I would not go with the bavauto software. I have not heard anything about it, but too me it just looks like they are trying to copy the shark injector and it seems overpriced. Just research websites and decide what you route you want to take with your car. A lot of it is personal opinion. Good luck with your upgrades! [:D]
