Winter Tires

When you go with snow tires, you have to go with snow tires all around. No need to match tire profiles all around, particularly if you have a staggered-width setup. Usually it is a good idea to go with a bit of a thicker profile all around for snow tires so the vehicle rides more "on top" of the snow.
Checkout the TireRack website for your make and model of vehicle, and checkout the user reviews, they are generally accurate. Blizzak LM-25's and Dunlop WinterSport M3's are a great set of tires that do not compromise much in dry and wet traction (for sporty driving) while still giving you solid snow/ice traction. If you want the ultimate in snow and ice traction but you are willing to sacrifice some dry road performance, Blizzak WS-50's are the way to go.
