Hey all. I'm brand to this forum and am hoping someone can offer some advice to hopefully save me some $$$. My wipers began a slow death about 1 month ago. It started with the intermittant position, where they wouldn't work at all. Next the normal speed use would work for about 5-15 minutes, then freeze. The fast speed always works, but I look like a freak when it's misting out and I have the wipers cranked. To make matters worse, if I clean the windows, the wipers don't turn off for about 5 minutes, which by that time leaves the windsheild with streaks, probably of burning rubber. I saw an earlier post about cleaning the motor, but I'm wondering if A) anyone knows how hard that would be on my make/model ('95 5401) and B) if someone of my limited skills could do it. I've also priced a new motor at mercedesshop.com (who I've ordered from in the past and gives me good prices and service) at $199. Any thoughts? I would imagine if I brought it in it would probably run me about $400-500.

Thanks-

Jim
