X3 2.5i gas mileage

How is everybody elses mileage? I haven't gotten onto the trottle at all and I am averaging 16.5 mpg or so. Is this normal and does it get better the more miles the SAV has on it?

I've had mine since February and the average has been almost dead on 22mpg from day 1.

It really depends on your driving mix.

We had a 2003 325i SULEV with steptronic. It got about 13 mpg in 100% city driving. Pure freeway driving, it would get mid-high 20's.

On our X3 3.0 with steptronic, it gets about 11 mpg in 100% city driving. Don't have a pure freeway number yet, but on some short trips with the OBC reset, it appears to be mid 20's.

I have 10,000 miles on mine now, and the total average is 20.1
I get about 26 mpg highway, and 17-18 city.

weMy wife and I drive ours mostly in the city. we have ~ 7,000 miles and the MPG is reading 16.2. I have a heavy foot! My wife drives it most of the time and I am stuck with the Jetta GL 2.0 w/auto. So when I DO get to drive teh X3, I like to have some fun, thus the bad milage!
