well all i know is that its not a clean swap. the engine will be quite a bit heavier than your stock engine, and none of the mounts will line up, motor mounts, ac compressor mounts, all that jazz.

as for gear box, if i had the ratio's in front of me i could tell you flat out, but it seems only fair that they'd all be too high for your new motor.

keep in mind i am no master mechanic, though i strive to be, so hopefully someone who has attempted this will chime in.

This will be drastically costly to have performed. Custom mounts for the motor will have to be fabricated to your car. And yes you will have to change out the gearbox. Well technically you don't have to. My friend dd this to his car and he used his 318 tranny and all, but he was getting such poor gas milage that he had to replace the tranny and what not. I am not exactly sure of everything he has performed on the car due to the swap and all, but he had a whole entire wrecked m3 to use, so if you really really desire the swap, try and find a wrecked m3 that still has a good front end, and buy the whole car, you can part the rest of it out when ur finished. This is just my advice to you. It will be way cheaper in the long run to just buy a high mileage m3 off of ebay or something like that
