i guess carcas is right, If you are lazy and don't feel like cleaning it than yeah it is not the best bang for your buck. However a K&N filter will give you very very good airflow. But like you said you aren't concerned w/ performance. So if I were you I would just go with some no name brand on ebay it will be pretty cheap, and I don't think you have to maintain those filters that they use well at leat not as much as K&N. I would like to get a WRX intake filter. Well I have one (not on the car), but there is no way It will fit onto my pipe cuz it is way to big, but anyways it isn't your usual filter it is made of very finlely porus and ribbed stainles steel, so there is no rusting. I wish they would make one for the smaller intake tubes tho. If you guys haven't seen one of these leme know and I will snap a pic. It's pretty cool. I think that the only maintence you have to perform with it is just simply dusting it off with a soft rag. I actually hooked it up kinda getto and I was getting better airflow with that than any other filter that I tested. Well leme know if you want a pic of it.
