do it right. Go to www.turnermotorsports.com and buy the jim conforti air intake kit. It is one of the best, and it will give you that sound that you are looking for. A little pricy tho. If you wanna go a little cheaper go with K&N, they still arent cheap, but you can clean their filters, and they also put out some pretty nice sound. If you really want sound though you will have to purchase an exahust system. I wouldn't get a cheap one of those either cuz the cheaper the sooner you will have to replace. Just my 2 cents

aze, check ebay...buy the cheapest one available, since all you really need are the "pipes" then just replace the cheap filter with a K&N. if you're really eager to get a heatshield on there, i beleive you can get the jim conforti one by itself...

I am sure you can have one fabricated from sheet metal pretty cheap, find a buddy with metal work experience and might be able to hook you up. A K&N is not a bang for the buck at all, just a long run maintenance thing if you plan on cleaning your filter yourself. Just my 2 cents.[;)]

i guess carcas is right, If you are lazy and don't feel like cleaning it than yeah it is not the best bang for your buck. However a K&N filter will give you very very good airflow. But like you said you aren't concerned w/ performance. So if I were you I would just go with some no name brand on ebay it will be pretty cheap, and I don't think you have to maintain those filters that they use well at leat not as much as K&N. I would like to get a WRX intake filter. Well I have one (not on the car), but there is no way It will fit onto my pipe cuz it is way to big, but anyways it isn't your usual filter it is made of very finlely porus and ribbed stainles steel, so there is no rusting. I wish they would make one for the smaller intake tubes tho. If you guys haven't seen one of these leme know and I will snap a pic. It's pretty cool. I think that the only maintence you have to perform with it is just simply dusting it off with a soft rag. I actually hooked it up kinda getto and I was getting better airflow with that than any other filter that I tested. Well leme know if you want a pic of it.
