It isnt hit really bad but it has 165k, its valued at ~3k so the company totaled it cuz it was over the value of the car... It needs the following, 1/2 quarter panel/s, rear bumper, trunk and some paint... considering that the job would be done for an insurance company it would cost even more then if you would just go to a body shop. It will be a fun project and Ill have something to drive... AND ITS A STICK! [:)]

Anybody can sue anyone else for any reason. lol
In my interpritation of the rules, the person who is turning left is supposed to wait until it's clear no matter how long it takes, on the other hand you have hit him and not the other way around, but the rule still applies as I see it. From what I have understood, there is no way in hell they can prove that you ran a red light without a picture or a witness. Think about it, how is it possible to prove you were at that exact and I mean exact time at that place without anything that has a time stamp on to compare to. We are talking about seconds or even fractions of a second here, I don't see a way to prove it without a picture or a witness. The cop said that you slid some special way, what is the difference, are you telling me that just a few seconds matter with everything else staying the same when we are talking about phisics. That is just BS. If there are witnesses or a photograph than you are most probably screwed but without that, there is no way in hell.

OK, I have this weird problem, i dont know really who to trust, I have two witnesses one a car that was also turning she was behind the guy who i hit, she said that he speeded thrue the intersection and ran a light, but that also means that i had to be close to a yellow/red light, this timing game doesnt work out really for me, cuz i was going straight which would make my speed more then his, cuz he was turning... now there is another witness who said it was yellow when i was on the intersection and this is what i thought was what really happend, I made a mistake, I came of of work tired and took some pain killers... i saw a green light but i also saw the pedestrian crossing light blinking so i went faster.. i saw a car turned before the guy who i hit and the guy followed and we colided... now yesterday i got a call from some attorney... she was asking my about my insurance.. the guy who i hit hired her... which makes me paranoid, kinda, he doesnt have money, he lives in a poor side of the town(i think) and he would probably like getting some money from me... now I lost the car over this, learned my lesson... Now I really dont care if i get convicted over the red light or not, I just dont want the guy to be able to file a law suit against me, now even if i ran a red light so did he if it was yellow then he didnt yield the right of way to me... The problem with my witness( the one from the yellow light ) that he was a pedestrian waiting for the bus, i dont know how much pedestrians really care about the lights... maybe he`s just trying to help me or something, i dont really know his motivation... Now what should i do? should i go with 2 witnesses and just give both of their testimonies to the court or should i just pick one of them?

I'm sorry but I have to ask what you were thinking when you took some pain killers before getting in the car, especially when you were already tired. I don't mean to be judgmental, but that was pretty stupid. You are lucky you survived this wreck, especially considering the magnitude of the damage done to your car.

Based on everything that you have said, I can't follow what happened to cause this accident. If you feel that you "learned your lesson," then you must feel that you are at fault??

Yes, I learned my lesson, to watch out for other drivers... but that doesnt exacly mean that Im at fault... actualy I have no idea whos fault was but Im pretty sure about one thing, either its the guys fault or its both of us who made an error...
