Have finally installed the Race Marque Systems supercharger with the Stage 2 aftercooler.
Am now waiting for my DME to be returned from RMS.
Spoke with them last week and was told it takes 2 weeks to have the DME reprogrammed. Not counting when i sent it, and not counting when they put in in the mail back to me. [???1]
Wish i had known that sooner.
Oh yeh, the so-called great installation instructions rely heavily upon the telephone link with RMS's tech. The procedures (at least the notebook i received) was poorly written, images referred to did not exist, and when i requested the images from RMS, what i recieved were of an M3, [the original RMS installation], and the original manual contained multiple typo's. As a former procedures writer for Lochkeed Martin, i was disappointed with their instruction manual.
The cover page referred to the aftercooler instructions that were not in the notebook.
The instructions were written to cover all bmw's.
The structure of the manual was poor.
[bmwkick] I had to request the aftercooler installation manual to receive it, although i had bought their sc and aftercooler at the same time.
RMS mentions a RMS cooling fan in their instructions, when i called and spoke with their tech, he told me i did not need the fan. People, here in Fort Worth we get triple digit heat during the summer for a minimum of 30 days. Therefore i spent additional monies for a 10 inch fan from Pep Boys (same price a Summit Racing) and installed it.
Hopefully within the next 2 weeks, i will have the DME, install it, and go have some fun at the Kennydale Race Track here in Fort Worth.
Before you ask:
I will post : 0 to 60; and 1/4 mile times here.
Cheers,
