VANOS found guilty

[repost] After months investigating and replacing engine parts, the engine hesitation between 900 and 1900 RPM must! be any of the vanos part(s). It's the only (and final) cause I imagine for the hesitation and lak of torque in that rpm portion.
[:(]
Then I'm looking for a good graphical explanation about the BMW single vanos components and how they work together.

Of course!, any additional hint or idea about the problem is welcome.

Thanks so much for your help, let me know if you find something.

There is no noise at the vanos region, I think could be a stuck solenoid valve instead of an open circuit one because the check engine isn't on.

Thanks again

Haha Okay, I was thinking "honda" becuase they always talk about how you can feel it kick in (which is BS)
The BMW single vanos is an on-off decice controlled by the pedal position and engine speed.

Double vanos instead is proportional like the HONDA's VTi, this means the cams position is changed proportionally by the Engine ECU. [sing]

Ah you're right [cheers] BUT, vanos can be changed any certain amountn within 12 degrees I believe. Honda has 2 cams per valve, so the duration is perminantly defined - where as bmw's is variable for when it is on or off - its not pre set for a certain lift duration.
