23 with 2003 E46 M3..

I know I couldn't afford one at 16-20.. But maybe they have E36 M3's handed down or used?? Or maybe there are just some rich kids out there! [confused]

Found a used one at my local dealer. Clean title, 64 thousand miles on it, Estoril Blue, 1997 E36 model. I got it for 18 grand, and its the luxury edition. Still an M3 nonetheless!

I'm currently 16 and holding 2 dayjobs. My parents help me with the insurance, but thats about it (I'm with state farm on their "good grades" program, which efficiently takes off about 20 bucks a month off my normal insurance price, which is 180 dollars for both me and the car)/

I usually drive safe, but it is tempting to take the M3 to its peak. I usually don't do it unless I know its clear, because once I get a ticket, my insurance skyrockets and my parents will take away my car. :(

No, I'm not spoiled, I just know how to save =D. Right now I'm stuck paying for the car (about 350 a month because of the large down payment I put =)), so I won't be seeing any mods anytime soon. It's still nice to know that I'm driving an M3

28 here. Worked for mine. No tickets, no accidents, $2800 a year insurance. M3-Teknitian- you must be on your parents insurance. Most companies quote me $4000 a year and some won't insure my car at all. But I would sell my house first!

insurance2800?

Carp--I'm not going to say you haven't shopped, but we(wife and I) were quoted 1200/year for a 96 toy 4runner. when I asked how much to add 03 M3 they said not more than like 20 bucks extra. I had a ticket and it didn't seem to matter. I'm 43-think that matters? Company is AIS(Auto Insurance Specialists). Good luck, Tim
And HEY to new M3 folks-Anyone else read that link on BREAK-IN in the newbe forum? I'm 3 weeks from delivery and want more opinions on that guys method for seating rings properly. Sounds a touch radical, but if it helps on oil consumption, blow by, compression, horsepower, and whatnot, I might do it. I should probably post new thread to get better responses, eh? Tim

The age is part of it, but Arizona is the highest or second highest insurance state. Plus, I am single. I will check out AIS and let you know.

I know exactly what you mean mikev, i wanted an M3 and being 17 wasnt totally sure what the insurance would be if at all they would insure me....i tried many places for quotes on m3's and found that nowhere and i mean nowhere would insure me on an M3 :(. I did more and more insurance quotes on many 3 series models and found that for me to go on a 318I would cost me anywhere from £2200 - to wait for it... £7120 now that feels harsh! Im determined to get one though you mark my words lol [thumb] *fingers crossed*

I'm 32, pay about 2k per year for full coverage.

E46 M3 - SMG - Navi - HK - Carbon Black / Black interior

I don't feel old, although like Timmeh - I seem to be the minority. My girlfriend is 10 years younger than me, so I guess I can say life is GOOD!

Try 'Co-operative Insurance', they are totally happy with insuring the car in my parents name and having myself named as a secondary driver, unlike other insurers; many whom don't seem to allow this in the UK.

For a 1990 E30 316i, black, lowered, leather seats (M3 bucket seats in the front) 17" rims, and ICE, it costs just under a £1000 to insure a year. Which is easily the best I can find. Good luck[;)]

Guess I'm the old lady in the bunch here, I'm going to be 50 next month! But, hey, its just a number. My insurance is through Farmer's just because its there, I pay $970 a year. My M is 2001 carbon black, has the sports package and is damn near gonna get me divorced!!! Trying to make mods to it but one thing in the way...hubby. Its like you said, I'm old enough to know better but smart enough to not get caught. Time for fun!!
