    Beijing Opening Ceremonies

Hey guys, Totally non-BMW related, but did any of you watch the 4+ hours of the Opening Cermonies? $300 million for the Opening Show, and $40 Billion, yeah $40 Billion spent on the city to prepare for the games. It was surreal, yet I couldn't stop thinking about how many Chinese people are...

JD Powers Quality....not good for BMW

Hmmm, looks like BMW's sliding quality and electronic problems are finally starting to show. I would think they would have learned from Mercedes' 1999-2006 cost cutting program, and learned that cost cutting with a luxury brand just does not work. BMW is at #21/32 in quality and MBZ is now...

    2008 X6 on Ebay

Did anyone else see the 2008 X6 on Ebay? Item number: 130219262118 The Buy It Now price is $99,000. WTF? [boxface] Obviously I love BMW, and think they're a great company...but I don't get this car. The interior, front of car, wheels, etc, etc....is 100% X5. It just seems un-original, and...

    It finally happened...$4.00+

Well, it finally happened! Our local Chevron station (the one I almost always use) listed Premium Gas/Petrol at $4.02 per gallon! For the last 2-3 weeks, it's been fluctuating between $3.91 and $3.97...but this morning a whopping $4.02/gallon. But compared to Canada, Germany, UK, Australia...

New 2008 4.8i, Let's try our luck again

So, my "Launch Supply" 2007 X5 3.0si was a real disaster last year. Love the X5 still, so now that the initial bugs have been addressed...I stepped up to the 4.8i. Totally amazing, it is a rocket! First time too...Alpine White (well I had a beater 89 Alpine White 325i, but that doesn't really...

    New M3 (2008) on streets of L.A.

Actually it was in Calabasas (about 30 miles NW) of Downtown L.A. No disguise, no manufacturer plates, no hidden roundel badges and it had CA plates. The website still has it listed as a 'Future Model'. Wonder what's up? It was black on black, and it sounded great. Sadly, in person it...

    335i vs. my MBZ E350

I'm always good about engine break-in periods, and since I have almost 1000 babied miles on my 08' E350 Sport...I enjoyed a little fun today. I'm at a red light, and these 3 teenagers in a new 335i sedan pull up next to me. I can see by the way they were inching forward, even though the light...

    New car arrived...finally!

So after months of test driving & debating, my "bad" 2007 X5 has been replaced. First, put down the tomatoes and pitch forks (and nasty comments) [hihi] . I didn't get a BMW. Although the dealer and BMWNA were totally amazing with the whole new X5 fiasco, I went with another German brand...

    Diesel cars are coming back

Let's hope Diesels make a big US comeback in the next year or so. What an awesome alternative for those who want high mpg, great reliability and don't want a Hybrid engine. Japanese automakers make the best Hybrids, and Germans for sure make the best diesels. Can you imagine a diesel hybrid...

BMW and Audi score poorly in cabrio safety

Cost isn't necessarily an indicator of safety in convertibles By Martin Zimmerman, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer May 31, 2007 When it comes to buying a crash-worthy convertible, paying more doesn't always get you more, researchers have found. With starting prices above $39,000, the BMW 3...

    2007 X5 3.0si Drama over. Car gone!

So it's official, the X5 is gone. I'm "not allowed" to discuss any details, per a confidentiality agreement contracted with BMWNA, but they were very decent, generous and they provided the utmost Customer Service and Care (as did our dealership). I was SO happy to be one of the first to have...

BMWNA Customer Relations has contacted me

Hey all, Just wanted to give a little update on my X5 drama/problem! BMWNA called me early this morning, and they were honestly, very supportive, caring and genuine (or at least they seemed!). They said my problems, and 6 Service visits for a brand new, $60k car is unacceptable, and they are...

My 2007 X5 hates me. Shoulda avoided first model year!

Arghhhh! I am so annoyed, and know that I can (usually:) vent on our Board. My new 2007 X5 3.0si, with about 700 miles, is in for Service for the 6th time. Today, as I started it up, I was greeted with many red warning lights & illustrations on the i-Drive screen and the instrument cluster...

Does anyone have sales reports for the sale of the new X5? I was at the dealer yesterday picking up my car (for yet another i-Drive realted failure:( and the same loaded, beautiful X5 4.8i is still sitting on the showroom floor, that was there when I got my car 2+ months ago! I know BMW set...
